With $300 dollars, Edward "Lee" Schield begins producing aluminum windows and doors in a garage in his hometown of Medford, Wisconsin.
1955
Lee Schield and brother David Schield form a partnership. The city of Medford issues a business permit to Weather Shield Aluminum Products Inc.
Weather Shield purchases the Medford Cooperative Creamery building on North Main Street for its first factory.
Weather Shield hires its first plant manager/foreman, Don Habeck.
1956
Weather Shield hires its first, official full-time salesman, Jerry Raasch.
Noreen Kelnhoffer is hired to work in the office.
Bob Spencer is hired as the company's first office manager.
1957
A local high school student is paid $20 for designing the first Weather Shield company logo.
1958
Weather Shield Aluminum Products Inc. becomes an official corporation. Lee Schield is president and David Schield is vice-president.
